National Philanthropy
Phi Sigma Rho's national philanthropy, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, is the world's largest voluntary health organization and is dedicated to fighting a variety of blood cancers. The LLS is dedicated to funding blood cancer research globally and provides access to information and support services for patients and their families. The UCLA Nu Chapter of Phi Sigma Rho is committed to supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and their mission through our philanthropy events.
PHI RHO YOUR BOAT
Every year, the Nu Chapter puts on our annual philanthropy, "Phi Rho Your Boat", to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The concept behind Phi Rho Your Boat is simple: participating teams have a limited amount of time and resources to build a person-sized boat and then must sail a member of their team across a swimming pool. The boats are made of recyclable materials such as cardboard boxes and plastic water bottles and are held together with duct tape, and judges award prizes for everything from the fastest boat to the most creative. The event provides a time to be relaxed and social while benefitting an organization that our chapter is incredibly passionate about.
LIGHT THE NIGHT
The Light the Night program is a series of nationwide campaigns benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and their mission. Each year, our chapter partners with other Phi Sigma Rho chapters across the country to participate in a fundraising campaign for Light the Night. In the fall, our sisters participate in the LA Light the Night Walk as the culmination of our fundraising efforts for the program.

Campus & community involvement
In addition to our national philanthropy, our chapter is committed to participating in local events sponsored by UCLA and regularly taking part in service opportunities outside of campus that help better our community right here in Los Angeles.
